Dispatcher - CALEDON EAST, ON

Overview:

At First Student, Dispatchers are a key part of our commitment to safety and customer service. The Dispatcher ensures on-time performance of routes, manages communications, and supports drivers and monitors.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all bus routes and scheduling
• Counsel and coach drivers and monitors
• Handle heavy phone and radio traffic
• Receive and report scheduling and driver complaints to the Operations Supervisor or Contract Manager
• Act as the primary communication liaison with contracted customers
• May manage charter reservations, billing, or driver payroll
• Provide solutions to drop-off and pick-up issues
• Perform back-up driver duties or clerical tasks as needed
• Complete special project assignments
• Assist in supervising day-to-day operations

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of radio dispatch equipment
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines
• Previous experience in terminal operations, dispatch, or as a driver
• Computer literacy
