First Student is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our Jackson shop located at 5500 Highway 80 West, Jackson, MS 39209. In this role, you will help ensure our fleet of school buses remains safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community.
$29.00 per hour, based on experience (not flat-rate)
ASE S-Series Incentive Pay: Additional $0.25/hour for each valid ASE S-Series certification you bring (must provide proof)

Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions
Diagnose mechanical issues and complete detailed work orders
Assist with mobile and emergency repair situations as needed
Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment
Technicians are classified as safety-sensitive and must pass DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana.
