First Student is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our Jackson shop located at 5500 Highway 80 West, Jackson, MS 39209. In this role, you will help ensure our fleet of school buses remains safe, reliable, and ready to serve the community.

Position Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions
Diagnose mechanical issues and complete detailed work orders
Assist with mobile and emergency repair situations as needed
Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant work environment
Technicians are classified as safety-sensitive and must pass DOT drug testing. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana.
In the state of Washington, all technician and driving positions, including but not limited to van drivers and any other position requiring employees to drive a company-owned vehicle, are considered safety-sensitive and are therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing, including cannabis.
