First Student is currently seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our dynamic team! In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our school buses, including supervising drivers and monitors, coordinating maintenance, and ensuring safe, efficient transportation for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and maintain a safe work environment at all times

  • Ensure drivers have the necessary paperwork and follow proper procedures

  • Coordinate field trips and daily route assignments

  • Assist drivers with route planning and ensure proper fueling and maintenance schedules

  • Observe personnel safety practices and take corrective action when needed

  • Support Location Manager in training sessions, disciplinary meetings, and kick-off events

  • Occasionally drive a bus if needed

  • Assist the dispatcher as required

  • Manage small locations under the direction of the Location Manager

  • Ensure routes comply with state, local, and vendor requirements

  • Review employee time sheets prior to payroll submission

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the transportation industry

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Proficiency with computers

  • Must meet DOT drug testing and physical requirements (Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, are prohibited under DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40)
