Responsibilities
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair with minimal supervision
- Perform repairs including brakes, engine tune-ups, suspensions, drive trains, transmissions, etc.
- Remove and reinstall mechanical components
- Participate in 90-day preventative maintenance inspections, safety checks, and annual inspections
- Issue MTO certificates using the DriveON program
- Complete work orders accurately using a tablet
- Maintain records of all maintenance work and parts used
- Evaluate completed work and seek approval when required
- Respond to road calls and emergency services as needed
- Follow all First Student standards, policies, and procedures
- Participate in the ASE certification program (training, testing, and bonuses provided).
Qualifications
- Valid 310T Mechanic license
- Valid driver's license
- Appropriate mechanic's tool set
- Strong problem-solving and computer skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
