Dispatcher - First Student
Pay: $22.16 per hour

As a Dispatcher, you'll play a key role in keeping our operations running smoothly-ensuring buses are on time, supporting drivers and monitors, and serving as a vital link in communication with our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee all bus routes and scheduling.

  • Coach and counsel drivers and monitors to ensure safety and performance.

  • Manage high volumes of phone and radio communication.

  • Serve as the primary liaison with contracted customers.

  • Address driver and scheduling concerns, escalating issues as needed.

  • Assist with charter reservations, billing, and driver payroll.

  • Provide solutions for pick-up and drop-off challenges.

  • Support daily operations, including backup driving or clerical duties as required.

  • Complete special projects and assignments from management.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of related experience (dispatch, terminal operations, or driver background preferred).

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Proficient in basic computer applications and radio dispatch systems.

  • Ability to perform under time-sensitive deadlines.

  • Must meet DOT drug testing and physical requirements. (DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana.)
