First Student is hiring immediately for a Automotive Service Technician Apprentice for our shop serving Grande Prairie, AB
About the Position
As a Technician with First Student, you will help maintain and repair school buses to ensure vehicle readiness and safety.
Key responsibilities include:
Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) inspections.
Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
Ensure work orders and documentation are completed accurately.
Assist with mobile emergency services when required.
Qualifications
Valid Alberta driver's licence (Class 5 required; Class 2 with "S" endorsement an asset).
Registered apprentice or journeyperson in the Automotive Service Technician or Truck and Transport Mechanic trade.
Possess a mechanic's tool set.
Willingness to participate in employer-supported training and Red Seal certification.
