First Student is hiring a School Bus Lot Attendant in Syracuse, NY serving the Syracuse School District!

Summary:

The School Bus Lot Attendant will perform all non-safety critical functions of school bus repair.

Major Responsibilities

  • Perform servicing tasks cleaning of filters

  • Replaces bulbs

  • Lubricates equipment

  • Removes wheels and tires

  • Changes fluids in buses

  • Any other maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisor

  • Repairs floors, seat backs, and coverings

  • Replace mirrors and some exterior panels

  • Add and remove decals

Minimum Education or Certifications Required

  • High School degree or equivalent



Minimum Experience or Skills Required

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Possess a small set of hand tools, increasing as training progresses

  • Ability to learn and perfect maintenance skills



Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Maintenance Shop environment

  • Physical ability to work in the trade

  • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds
