Now Hiring: Semi-Skilled Lot Attendant
Location: Serving Freeport, Hempstead, BOCES, and Island Park
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Hourly Wage: The hourly wage of $21.21 is set per union contract.
Our Semi-Skilled Lot Attendants support the day-to-day readiness of our fleet by performing essential hands-on maintenance tasks that keep our buses operating safely and efficiently. This is a great role for someone who enjoys mechanical work, problem-solving, and contributing directly to a safe transportation operation for the communities we serve.
What You'll Do
Perform general servicing tasks, including cleaning filters and replacing bulbs
Lubricate equipment and assist with basic mechanical functions
Remove wheels and tires as needed
Perform fluid changes on buses
Assist with various maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisors
Repair floors, seat backs, coverings, and minor interior components
Replace mirrors and selected exterior panels
Add or remove decals for fleet appearance and compliance
What You'll Bring
High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 18 years of age
Basic hand tools (with the expectation of growing your tool set as training progresses)
Willingness to learn and develop mechanical skills
Ability to lift up to 65 pounds and work in a maintenance shop environment
